As this year comes to a close, I’m choosing to pause, breathe, and reflect. Each year has shaped us in different ways, with lessons, growth, and moments we’re ready to release. Today is about letting go of what no longer serves us and making space for peace, clarity, and new beginnings. We don’t have to carry everything forward. Some things are meant to stay in the past so we can step into the future lighter and more aligned.

And honestly… you’re not alone.

2025 has been challenging for so many of us. Emotionally, financially, mentally. Some of us faced burnout, grief, job loss, uncertainty, or big life changes we didn’t ask for. Others spent the year just trying to survive, not thrive. And that’s okay.

If you’re feeling anxious about what’s next, fearing the worst, or carrying heaviness into the new year, please remember this: you don’t have to have it all figured out. A new year doesn’t demand perfection, productivity, or pressure. It offers possibility, healing, and a fresh chance to move at your own pace.

Take what you learned, leave what drained you, and step into the next chapter gently. Hope doesn’t mean everything will be easy. It means you are still here, still trying, still worthy of good things.

This project is very close to my heart. It’s inspired by the powerful story of Queen Tassi Hangbé, the first queen of the Dahomey Kingdom, now known as Benin, where my ancestors are from. She was a warrior queen who created the Amazons, the real-life inspiration behind Black Panther’s Dora Milaje and the women of The Woman King.
