Lately, I have illustrated black women resting and sleeping because they bear the weight of our society and community and it shouldn’t be. As women, especially black women, we should not be the face of struggles. Black women need to be loved and protected. Black woman are not warriors. Black women are women. Our femininity and sensitivity is not different than other’s.
